THAT MARKLE SPARKLE !

Like many of my friends I have been enjoying the splendid spectacle of the Royal Wedding. Brilliant sunshine, pomp, ceremony, glamour, the rich and famous, and of course, a genuine love story. How refreshing to be witness (even if only via the medium of the TV screen) to a heart warming, joyful event.

And yet there are the naysayers: the nasty comments on social media about the relevance of the monarchy, the racial aspect, etc. etc. Really people! Can’t we just for one brief day focus on a bright, happy celebration and wish the couple well for the future?
Daily we face an onslaught of political and economic woes, globally and nationally. Our local news has been detailing the judgement in a particularly horrific family murder case. So gruesome that I don’t want to say anything more about it.
Just for a couple of days can’t we chorus: Don’t worry, be happy! Sounds good to me!

  2. Indeed! Agree with every sentiment. Those naysayers, and they crawl out from rocks everwhere, must have minds that are constantly unpleasant to live in. x

  3. Wholeheartedly agree, Alison. Enough already with the doom and gloom from all sides. I too wish Harry and Megan a lifetime of happiness and love!

I believe she is another Kate, and suits him. He must do too, because he has taken a long time to find someone who is not only up to the task of becoming a member of The Firm, but whom he feels he loves enough and is loved enough to marry. I wish them luck for the future. xx

  5. Agree Alison! the naysayers are just jealous of the love these two share. Her dress was elegant, and representing the common wealth flowers in her veil added that personal touch. Think she is going to do extremely well

  6. Ah, I loved the song, “Don’t worry; be happy.” And I couldn’t agree with your more about its appropriateness in this case. My brother used to tell me when I was full of woe and negativity, “Get a life!” which is exactly what the naysayers need to do.

  7. Quite so! Would that the naysayers , a.k.a. killjoys, could have joined me on the Long Walk in Windsor. People from all over the world, including a stately woman from Nigeria in magnificent national dress, revelling in the occasion.
